Trans Pride Africa is a global initiative, that celebrates, educates and empowers the transgender and gender-nonconforming communities particularly on the continent of Africa, by creating projects that help educate the African society about the trans community, their rights and systemic issues surrounding individuals who identify with the community.
OUR Mission
The mission of Trans Pride Africa is to empower, support, and advocate for transgender individuals in Africa, creating a world where every transgender person can live authentically, free from discrimination and violence. We work to foster resilience, provide healthcare access, advocate for legal protections, and build a strong and vibrant community to ensure the well-being and dignity of all transgender individuals on the African continent. The vision of Trans Pride Africa is a future where every transgender individual in Africa can live with pride, safety, and authenticity.

Our community has the right to be free to exist, free to express ourselves, free from fear, free from oppression and all sorts of discrimination and free to prosper.

Plans of action
- Improving gender affirming care, psychosocial, cognitive and sexual health of all African transgender and gender nonconforming individuals.
- Eradicating Trans phobia through awareness programs and initiatives in all levels of society, i.e schools, workspaces, public spaces and in law enforcement.
- Harm reduction amongst transgender and gender nonconforming individuals, through education in safes spaces, house calls and events to promote the wellbeing of community members who are recreational drug users.
- Representation in African arts and culture. We shall use our visibility programs to promote our diverse and rich cultures, through our marginalized community and amplify our community artists
- Skills acquisition programs for poverty alleviation, independence and self-sustainability that are focused on training, apprenticeship or mentorship.
